Invitation to Participate in the Survey “Eastern German Perspectives”

“Good Bye, Lenin,” “Das Leben der Anderen,” and “In einem Land, das es nicht mehr gibt” – you’ve seen them and now know the East. Or do you?

The Producers’ Association wants to understand how Eastern German perspectives are currently represented in our industry: Are they portrayed often and authentically enough on screen? Do filmmakers from the East and West have the same opportunities to enter the industry and build careers? If not, what are the obstacles?

They want to understand what’s working well and where things are falling short, whether there’s a need for specific support, and if so, what that entails. The survey also aims to determine how the industry reflects Eastern German perspectives – both in the East and the West.

To this end, a targeted industry survey has been launched, and you are invited to participate by Monday, March 17, 2025, via the following link:

The survey is being conducted by Goldmedia on behalf of the Producers’ Association and is supported by Netflix .
